A woman from Delhi, who had traveled to Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district with three companions, was allegedly raped inside her hotel room near McLeodganj in Dharamshala. According to her statement to police, the accused, Shubham—a friend of her employer—entered her room without consent and sexually assaulted her when she was alone.

The group had first stayed in Jawalamukhi after being invited by Shubham, who owns a hotel there. After two days, they traveled to Dharamshala and checked into a hotel near McLeodganj on July 19. Shubham also accompanied them and stayed at the same hotel.

The survivor, who was unwell on the day of the incident, chose to remain in the room while the others went sightseeing. She stated in her complaint that Shubham forced his way into the room and assaulted her. She also alleged that he threatened her.

The woman reported the matter to the police, who responded immediately. The accused had fled but was located and arrested by the police in McLeodganj.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Kangra), Bir Bahadur, confirmed that a case had been filed. The survivor underwent a medical examination, and the investigation is underway. Police are also recording the statements of her friends who accompanied her.

घटनेच्या दिवशी, पीडित महिला तब्येतीमुळे हॉटेलमध्येच थांबली होती आणि तिचे मित्र पर्यटनासाठी बाहेर गेले होते. याच वेळी, शुभमने तिची एकटीची संधी घेत खोलीत घुसून तिच्यावर बलात्कार केला. तक्रारीत असे नमूद आहे की, त्याने तिला धमकीसुद्धा दिली.

महिलेने पोलिसांकडे तक्रार दाखल केली. पोलिसांनी तत्काळ कारवाई करत आरोपीचा शोध घेतला. शुभमने हॉटेलमधून पळून जाण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, परंतु तो मॅक्लिओडगंज येथे अटक करण्यात आला.
