The television industry has been deeply saddened by the untimely passing of **Priya Marathe**, a well-known face in both Marathi and Hindi entertainment. The actress, aged 38, breathed her last on **August 31** at her residence in Mira Road, Mumbai, after a long battle with cancer.

Born on **April 23, 1987**, in Mumbai, Priya completed her education in the city before entering the acting world. She began her career with Marathi serials such as *Ya Sukhano Ya* and *Char Divas Sasuche*, soon becoming a familiar name among viewers.

Her career took a significant turn with her role as **Vidya Bali** in Ekta Kapoor’s *Kasamh Se*. She also displayed her comic timing on the first season of *Comedy Circus*. However, she achieved nationwide recognition with her portrayal of **Varsha Satish** in *Pavitra Rishta*, a role that made her a household name. She later appeared in *Bade Acche Lagte Hain* as **Jyoti Malhotra**, along with roles in *Tu Tithe Me*, *Bhaage Re Mann*, *Jayastute*, and *Maharana Pratap*.

Priya also acted on the big screen, debuting in the 2008 Hindi film *Humne Jeena Seekh Liya*. She was later seen in Govind Nihalani’s Marathi film *Ti Ani Itar*, sharing screen space with respected actors such as Sonali Kulkarni, Subodh Bhave, and Amruta Subhash.

Her passing has left fans and colleagues in shock. Priya Marathe will always be remembered for her versatility, vibrant presence, and the memorable characters she portrayed. She is survived by her husband, actor **Shantanu Moghe**, whom she married on **April 24, 2012**.

मराठी तसेच हिंदी मनोरंजनसृष्टीतील लोकप्रिय अभिनेत्री **प्रिया मराठे** यांच्या अकाली निधनाने दूरदर्शन क्षेत्राला मोठा धक्का बसला आहे. वयाच्या केवळ ३८ व्या वर्षी, कॅन्सरशी दीर्घकाळ झुंज दिल्यानंतर, ३१ ऑगस्ट रोजी मुंबईतील मीरा रोड येथील निवासस्थानी त्यांचे निधन झाले.

**२३ एप्रिल १९८७** रोजी मुंबईत जन्मलेल्या प्रियाने आपले शिक्षण मुंबईतच पूर्ण केले आणि लवकरच अभिनयक्षेत्रात पाऊल ठेवले. *या सुखानो या* आणि *चार दिवस सासूचे* यांसारख्या मराठी मालिकांमधून त्यांनी कारकिर्दीची सुरुवात केली.

एकता कपूर यांच्या *कसम से* या मालिकेतील **विद्या बाली**ची भूमिका ही त्यांच्या करिअरमधील महत्त्वाची पायरी ठरली. *कॉमेडी सर्कस*च्या पहिल्या पर्वात सहभागी होऊन त्यांनी विनोदाचा वेगळा आविष्कार दाखवला. मात्र, *पवित्र रिश्ता*मधील **वर्षा सतीश** ही भूमिका त्यांना देशभरात लोकप्रिय करून गेली. त्यानंतर *बडे अच्छे लगते हैं* (२०१२) मधील **ज्योती मल्होत्रा**, तसेच *तु तिथे मी*, *भाग रे मन*, *जयहस्तुते*, *महाराणा प्रताप* अशा अनेक मालिकांत त्यांनी काम केले.

दूरदर्शनसोबतच प्रियाने चित्रपटसृष्टीतही अभिनयाची छाप सोडली. २००८ साली *हमने जीना सीख लिया* या हिंदी चित्रपटातून त्यांनी पदार्पण केले. तसेच गोविंद निहलानी दिग्दर्शित मराठी चित्रपट *ती आणि इतर*मध्ये सोनाली कुलकर्णी, सुभोध भावे, अमृता सुभाष यांच्यासह त्यांनी महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका साकारली.

प्रियाचे निधन हे रसिकांसाठी आणि कलाविश्वासाठी मोठे दु:ख आहे. त्यांच्या बहुआयामी अभिनयाची, आत्मीयतेची आणि अविस्मरणीय व्यक्तिरेखांची आठवण कायम राहील. त्यांच्या पश्चात पती आणि अभिनेते **शंतनू मोगे** आहेत. दोघांचा विवाह **२४ एप्रिल २०१२** रोजी झाला होता.
