Vikram Bhatt and Wife Sent to Judicial Custody in ₹30 Crore Case

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt have been sent to judicial custody by a court in Udaipur in connection with a ₹30 crore financial dispute case registered in Rajasthan.

The case is based on a complaint filed by a businessman from Udaipur, who has alleged that a large sum of money was transferred for a proposed film project that did not materialise as promised. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of law related to cheating and financial misrepresentation.

Following their arrest, the couple was initially placed under police remand for questioning. After the completion of the remand period, the court ordered judicial custody, meaning they will remain in jail while the investigation continues. A request for interim relief on medical grounds was also considered by the court.

Police officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing and financial records related to the case are being examined. The accused have denied the allegations, maintaining that the matter is being misrepresented and will be addressed through legal proceedings.

As per legal procedure, the case is currently at the investigation stage, and no final determination of guilt has been made. Further hearings are expected as the matter progresses.
